I have only been here a couple times and usually very short trips and usually filled with busyness. So what has this trip done for me? It has made me realize again that sometimes you only get that one fleeting moment to see life at it’s greatest. And when that thing happens you have to be awake(mentally) enough to see it. Further you have to be able to appreciate the little things that life has in store for you.

The closest thing that I can relate it to is a shooting star.

Most of us have seen them. However when we do we are usually the only one in the crowd who gets to see it at that moment. It can be the most amazing experience even though it is always very quick and disappears without a trace. Sometimes the ill experienced try to explain the shooting star…however the only way to experience a shooting star is to be in the moment at the right place and the right time. I have had a few key moments on my trip that were….simply amazing…not to be explained because that would steal from their meaning.

But please know that you should always be on the lookout for your shooting stars, they may happen when you least expect it, you need to be able to recognize them and understand that they are special to you and no one else.

I have a good friend who introduced me to the timed triple shot. Basically you setup your camera in a solid place and wait 10 sec for the first picture. then three seconds later the second shot, and finally another three seconds the third and final shot. In order to give these justice you have to animate them. I did some searching and found http://gickr.com to be up to the task. They have far to many popup ads embedded in the site but if your images aren’t too big it works great…enjoy:

I have been exploring new things with the new BlackBerry App World on my Bold. One that keeps reappearing is Pandora. This service has been on my radar for a long time just like Last.fm. Unfortunately I haven’t had time to check them out. That is until this morning. I was doing my usual checking emails,

calendar and such on my handheld when I decided to check the App World. First up was Pandora. I decided to install it real quickly, thanks to the App Store and Vendors making custom mobile apps, this went very fast.Further I was able to create a new account right on the handheld. I have yet to be to Pandora’s website.

After creating a few stations I remembered that my Sonos system has some tie-in with Pandora. Took me about 1 minute on the laptop to add the Pandora service to my Sonos system, and Viola – I was listening to a custom playlist that I created on my BlackBerry. This is so cool!!

The Music that was coming from the BlackBerry was actually really good considering the size of the device (and hence speakers), but one thing I remembered was that at home my Bold was connected via Wi-Fi. I decided to do a little test when I left for work. I plugged my BlackBerry into my car stereo, very simple since the BlackBerry uses a standard headphone jack. This was awesome I was listening to a custom station, which was Dave Matthews, in my car and it sounded good. Even better when I drove away from the house the music never skipped, stuttered or dropped as my device simply switched from Wi-Fi to3G.

Score for techies and music lovers all over. I can think of endless possibilities for my new Pandora addiction.

Only downside…30 minute drive to work and my Bold was getting hot.

Today morning seemed to come way too early. Was it my job? I have actually been blessed to work at a great company with great people, so nope. Was it my personal life? I just spent all weekend enjoying good times with great people, so nope. Was it my body? I did just do 160 lunges on Saturday so my legs were a little sore, and my right foot hurt a little, so maybe this had a little to do with it.

As the snooze button kept reappearing in my life every 5 minutes 5:30 quickly became 6:05.

I could hear the Matrix in my head "get up trinity, GET UP!" At this point I had turned my thoughts of running this morning into thoughts of taking a nice relaxing walk. At least I would be doing some physical activity that would make the rest of my day more productive. In a zombie like state I proceeded to put on my workout gear, grab my iPod and get this thing going. I started queuing up the iPod to the audio book I have been listening to, however the audio books I listen to tend to require full attention so I decided to throw on some music as I continued getting ready. Then I remembered I made some new playlists last night of some of my older techno/trance albums. DJ John Kelly – Funky Desert Breaks 2 was my selection today. Fully intending on putting the audio book on once I got outside, I let the gradual start to the album guide me.

I exited the house and decided to finish the song I was on, forgetting that it was 80 minutes worth of non-stop tracks. Then it happened [insert epiphany here]. My body began locomotion all by itself. The music was powering my soul and suddenly I started running, in an awkward Forest Gump kinda way. Continuing down the street I seemed to forget about the audio book, my foot didn’t seem to hurt anymore and the soreness in my legs was waning. My heart and lungs seemed to be in a perfect symbiotic relationship giving my body the oxygen it needed.

While not the fastest run I ever did, it was very rewarding. I never did turn the audio book on and then I realized that maybe sometimes all life needs is a good soundtrack, what is your soundtrack today?
